Equipment

  • single kayaks (1 person occupancy, 250 lb weight limit)
  • tandem kayak (2 person occupancy, 350 lb total weight limit)
  • stand up paddleboard (1 person occupancy [or adult + child], 250 lb total weight limit)

    Duration

Typical timeslot is for a 1 hour paddle (+15 min instruction). This is plenty of time for most people; it is a nice route up river and back. The timeslot is 1.25 hours total, with 1 full hour of paddling. For example, if your timeslot starts at 3:00 p.m., you will have the instruction period and then be on the river from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.

We also offer a 2.5 hour paddle for those wanting to take their time. Sorry, no refunds for returning early.

    What to Expect

During the 15 instruction period we go over the suggested route, river conditions, and overview of the equipment. We will help you launch and exit the vessel on the stone boat launch ramp. The suggested route is north: up ~1 mile and back. You cannot continue further north of North Bank Park due to shallow water. You cannot continue more than 2 miles south due to the presence of a dam.

Curious about stand up paddleboarding? Give it a try! Beginners welcome! If you are unsure about standing up, there is always the option to sit or kneel. During the instruction period we will provide information about the equipment, basic strokes, and safety.
